Mauritian ex-Prez, London's Mayor call on PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Former President of Mauritius Cassam Uteem and London's Mayor Andrew Parmley on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal separately at his official official residence in Baluwatar.

In the meeting with the Mauritian leader, Prime Minister Dahal said Nepal was thankful to the international community for supporting the country in its peace process, according to a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat.

PM Dahal told Uteem the Government of Nepal was working to implement the recently promulgated Constitution by institutionalising the past achievements.

The former Mauritian President, on the other hand, appreciated Nepal for the conclusion of peace process and entry into a new political process, added the Secretariat.

With the Lord Mayor of London, he talked about the issues of Constitution implementation, post-earthquake reconstruction efforts, political stability and economic progress in Nepal.

They also discussed possible British investment in Nepal's hydropower sector.

PM Dahal told Parmley Nepal was working to make the hydropower sector investment-friendly.
