Meet on air pollution
Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) and Electric Vehicles Alliance today organised a daylong workshop for school teachers. Chief of Environment Department of KMC Shantaram Pokhrel said the teachers can play a vital role in minimising air pollution by creating awareness among the students. Executive director of CEN Bhushan Tuladhar said there are simple and effective ways to save the air of Kathmandu Valley from polluting further. "We should focus on promoting electric vehicles. This can bring a great change in the city, which we should save for our future generation," he said. The resource persons also trained the teachers how the curriculum on air pollution in the text books can be made impressive to the children by adding practical notes. The participants discussed means to prevent pollution during the workshop. Around 30 teachers, working as patrons to "Nature Clubs", participated in the workshop.
