KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has issued fresh update regarding the status of traffic along several road-sections in Kathmandu.

"We urge commuters traveling along Lainchaur, Thamel and Sorhakhuttey to use alternative routes due to disturbance in vehicular movements in the said areas," the MTPD tweeted.

"The roads are under-repair at Lainchaur, Thamel and Sorhakhutte therefore the traffic of the areas and surrounding areas will remain affected," said the Metro Traffic.

As the fourth BIMSTEC summit approaches, the government is engaged in haphazard 'make-up' of roads that will be used by visiting dignitaries during the summit.

The road make-up during busy traffic hours has further caused much inconvenience to the public.
