Mild tremor felt
KATHMANDU: A moderate tremor jolted western and central Nepal, including Kathmandu Valley and adjoining districts at around 11:54 pm on Sunday.
The National Seismological Centre called the midnight tremor an aftershock of the April 25 earthquake having a local magnitude of 5.5, with its epicentre in Gorkha.
The coordinates of the location where the tremor originated are given as 28.08°N, 84.76°E.
After last year’s devastating April 25 earthquake of 7.6 Richter, the National Seismological Centre has recorded as many as 434 aftershocks of local magnitude 4.0 or above till Sunday.
The National Seismological Centre had recorded a magnitude 5.5 aftershock with its epicentre in Sindhupalchowk district on February 5.
