KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 11

Minister for Health and Population Dr. Sudha Gautam has pledged to resolve the problems affecting health insurance services.

Inaugurating the 31st anniversary celebration of Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital and its laboratory building on Monday, Minister Gautam emphasized that the constitution guarantees the right to health free of cost for all citizens, and the government is committed to making this right a reality.

She urged local governments to ensure that basic hospitals, health posts, and other health institutions provide medicines free of charge, noting that the federal government has allocated a conditional grant to support this initiative.

On a different note, Minister Gautam highlighted that the government is focused on conducting the elections for the House of Representatives in accordance with its mandate. She stressed that it is the government's primary responsibility to ensure that the March 5 election is held in a free and fair manner, and called for cooperation from all sectors to encourage voter participation.

Other speakers at the program emphasized the need to further enhance the quality of services provided by Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.
