KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the Margadarshan, a national monthly magazine published by Janasankalpa Publication Private Limited, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Planning and Works Bijay Kumar Gachhadar and former Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the CPN-UML KP Oli on Sunday jointly felicitated five

persons for their outstanding contribution in various fields.

Shankar Prasad Koirala (administration), Chandra Dhakal (economics), Shiva Gaunle (journalism), Alok Shree (music) and Dr Upendra Mahato (Non-Resident Nepali) were among those felicitated. They were provided with a cash award of Rs 25,000 along with a copper plaque. On the occasion, DPM Gachhadar announced that he would join journalism after giving up political career. He claimed that the UCPN-Maoist led government had collapsed under its own weight.

Editor of the magazine, Dipak Pathak, said his magazine had given high priority to professional journalism.

The new edition of the Margadarshan magazine was also made public in the programme.
