KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 29

The car that Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, was traveling in has been set ablaze in the Balkumari area on Friday afternoon.

The incident unfolded as a group of frustrated youths, unable to fill out their Employment Permit System (EPS) application forms today, set fire to the vehicle, Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Kuber Kadayat was quoted as saying in the RSS.

"A group of agitating youths set fire to the vehicle," he confirmed. "The minister was rescued by the police and taken to Singha Durbar safely." According to DIG Kadayat, police have arrested five people in connection with the incident.

A gathering of youths had been protesting since morning at the EPS office in Gwarko.
