Ministry shows 244 cases of Covid-19 in Kathmandu valley

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley reported as many as 244 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Thursday.

Of the total 613 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 199 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 27 and 18 infections respectively.

Of those newly infected in the valley, 100 are females while 144 are males.

Currently, there are 3,153 active infections in Kathmandu, 491 in Lalitpur, and 227 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 7,384,.

So far, 457 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 98 in Bhaktapur, and 143 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 1,808.

Meanwhile, a total of 92,048 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu while 14,318 have recovered in Lalitpur and 8,414 in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu alone remains as a district to have over 500 active cases. Likewise, Mugu is the only district with zero live infections at present.
