Ministry urges public to get rid of middleman
Kathmandu, February 3:
The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) today appealed to the public not to use middlemen for their work in transport offices since the offices have recently made arrangement for efficient services to the public.
Issuing a press statement here today, the department stated that it had systematised all of its 13 transport offices across the nation for effective delivery of services following the Prime Minister’s address to the nation.
The transport offices will implement a token system on the ‘first come first serve’ basis from February 8. Complaint boxes will be placed for the public and a separate officer will be assigned just to address those complaints.
All the activities will be monitored by the chiefs of the concerned offices all the time with surprise checks and inspections.
The department also stated that it had already directed all its offices to deny access to unauthorised people — such as brokers and middlemen — inside their offices.
“The public will also get a written explanation if their work is delayed,” said Jeevan Sedhai, director at the department.
He further said the department on Sunday directed all the offices to arrange log books for the employees’ attendance to ensure regular work.
The attendance will also be monitored by the chiefs of the respective offices.
All the employees of the department and other transport offices have also been directed to carry their identity cards while on duty.
