MoEST to establish CTEVT in all provinces

Kathmandu, June 4

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to establish federal offices for the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training in all seven provinces of the country.

The ministry decided to take CTEVT to the provincial level as the country has already entered a three-tier model.

At a meeting, Minister Pokharel gave directives for feasibility study, policy and legal management for establishment of the council.

The model of CTEVT wasn’t even made after the models of other institutions were made as per the federal structure of the country. The central office of the CTEVT is at Sanothimi, while there are other area offices in Bharatapur, Itahari and Kohalpur.

“Directives have been given for the establishment of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training. The ministry decided to establish the council so as to provide technical education and skills to students in the country,” said Sunil Khadka, media coordinator at the ministry.

CTEVT has been providing technical education in the fields of agriculture, engineering and health. It is also providing short-term technical training to produce skilled manpower.
