MoFALD told to provide LBRC with ilaka data in 3 days
KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers on Sunday directed the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) to furnish the Local Body Restructuring Commission with all necessary data within three days.
After the LBRC complained that the government failed to provide information on the number and populations of ilakas, one of the major bases for local body restructuring, a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi directed the same.
The meeting also urged MoFALD to provide data on populations of each existing VDC and municipality within three days.
Meanwhile, the Ministry was also told to coordinate with other ministries and mechanisms if it did not have sufficient date required by the LBRC, according to a statement issued by the OPMCM.
The LBRC Chairman Balananda Paudel was also present at the meeting.
