KATHMANDU:  A person died after the motorcycle he was riding on met with an accident in Chundevi of Bhaktapur district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod Shrestha (24) of Suryabinayak Darjeeling Height in Bhaktapur Municipality-5.

According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 92 464) collided with another motorcycle (Ba 61 Pa 415) at 5:45 pm yesterday, injuring motorcyclist Shrestha, informed police.

The injured Shrestha was rushed to the Bhaktapur Hospital where he breathed his last at 6:00 pm the same day during the course of treatment, according to police.

It has been learnt that Shrestha was riding Ba 92 464 plated two-wheeler while the other motorcyclist has fled the scene.

Meanwhile, Metropolitan Police Circle, Jagati has impounded both vehicles involved in the accident and search is on for the absconding motorcyclist, said police.
