Mukherjee, Poudel discuss current political scenario

Kathmandu, November 13:

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee called on Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel at latter’s office here today.

Matters related to the existing current political situation, resolving the issues in Tarai and holding of the Constituent Assembly (CA) election at the earliest were discussed during the meeting, said Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction (MoPR).

The meeting also discussed the possible area of cooperation from Indian government in connection with the peace process, added the Ministry.

Ambassador Mukherjee reiterated the commitment that the cooperation of Indian government would continue in the days ahead.

Also today, Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Richard Ragon, called on minister Poudel.

On the occasion, Poudel urged to make arrangement for dispatching food at the local level, which was to be distributed in Karnali region under the programme, as the motorway extends up to Jumla district only.

Matters related to extend further cooperation on the part of the programme in the peace process of the country were discussed during the meet. Discussion on implementing incomplete projects of infrastructure development programme was also held on the occasion, said the Ministry.
