KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 4

Kathmandu police have arrested a murder accused who had been evading capture since 2022, from the Chabahil area.

The accused has been identified as 30-year-old Suman Thapa Magar, also known as Niraj Magar. Magar originally hails from Manthali Municipality-11 in Ramechhap but had been residing in the Budhanikantha of Kathmandu.

A dedicated team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Minbhawan, arrested Magar on Friday.

Magar is accused of the murder of Suraj Khadka, a resident of Sankhamul in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-31 with a sharp-edged weapon on March 23, 2022. Magar had been evading the authorities since then.

Following his arrest, Suman Thapa Magar has been transferred to the Police Circle, New Baneshwor for legal proceedings against him, police said.
