Mystery deaths, cops clueless
Bodies of ‘three brothers’ found in Khusibu apartment
Kathmandu, April 20:
Police found three decomposed bodies in an apartment at Khusibu town planning in Kathmandu today. The bodies were found beneath two beds in a room that had been locked from outside since April 14.
The house-owner, Laxman Rajopadhyay, said three brothers — Anil, Sunil and Sujan Bajracharya — had been staying in the rented room since Dashain.
“As they had been putting up in the room, we can say the bodies were of them on prima facie,” Jagannath Khanal, an inspector, said. Rajopadhyay said the room had been locked since April 14. Though bad smell pervaded outside the room, we thought it might be the smell coming from a dead mouse. “We called up the police as we saw more and more flies swarming near the room,” he said.
Police could not locate the bodies at first as bed covers were pulled down to the floor. Two bodies were found lying beneath a bed whereas one was found beneath the other. “We can’t say anything right now. As the bodies have been decomposed, we cannot even identify the dead. It might be a murder. We will probe the case after receiving post-mortem reports,” Khanal said. Neighbours said they heard a noise at midnight on April 14. After that, we did not see the three brothers, they said. Kamal Khadka, a friend of Sujan, said the three were students of ASCOL.
