KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said on Sunday that the Nepal Army (NA) has always maintained civilian supremacy.

Speaking at a programme organised at the NA training centre in Kharipati, Bhaktapur, and the PM said that the NA had followed the previous government directives. He admired the NA for its contribution to national integrity and sovereignty in the country though it is deprived of facilities.

The PM directed the NA to work in favour of the public and the nation. He also ordered the NA to respect human rights according to the international norms and values.
