Narayan Datta Ranabhat, 90, father of former Speaker of the House Taranath Ranabhat, died in Kathmandu on Thursday. The body of Ranabhat, a life-long member of the NC, was kept at the NC office from 9 am to 12 noon. His body was then taken to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation. PM Girija Prasad Koirala, acting president of the NC Shushil Koirala, vice-president and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel paid tribute to Ranabhat. The NC said the death of Ranabahat has caused an irreparable loss.
