National Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Centre to be set up

KATHMANDU: The Department of Ayurveda under the Ministry of Health is going to establish an international-level National Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Centre at Budhanilakantha in Kathmandu district.

Panchakarma, according to Ayurveda, is primary purification and detoxification treatment to cleanse the body of toxins.

The proposed Rs 1 billion Centre will be built on 14 ropanis of land owned by the Department itself which is expected to offer yoga and detoxification services on par with the international standards, according to the Director General (DG) at the Department,  Basudev Upadhyay.

People from all social strata could avail the services from the Centre, said DG Upadhyay.

Currently, an administrative building is being built at the construction site for which Rs 10.5 million has already been allocated, shared Upadhyay.

According to him, the Department aims to establish such centres across all seven provinces once it is constructed in the Capital city.
