KATHMANDU, MAY 17
Naveen Srivastava, the current Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs of India, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Nepal.
Srivastava is expected to take up the assignment in Kathmandu shortly.
During his 28-year-long tenure in the Indian Foreign Service, he has served in many capacities including as an ambassador of India to Cambodia, as a Consul General of India in Shanghai, China, among other important roles.
Srivastava handles the East Asia desk and is said to be an expert in handling China affairs.
His predecessor, Vinay Mohan Kwatra was recently appointed the Foreign Secretary of India.
