The WB Chief Minister's office awaits clearance from Indian MEA
KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 6
The Nepali Congress has extended an invite to Chief Minister of Indian state of West Bengal -- Mamata Banerjee -- to attend the inaugural session of its 14th general convention.
According to sources at the WB CM's office, Banerjee has already received the invitation extended by NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and she is keen to attend the event.
However, we are still awaiting clearance for the Ministry of External Affairs to send confirmation from our end they added, the source told THT Online.
"HCM will attend and address the convention subject to MEA's clearance. She has to go to Goa the very next day for another programme, o logistics will have to be factored in too," they added.
NC has also sent out invitations to various other prominent international leaders to attend their national congress.
The upcoming national convention of Nepal's 'grand old party' is scheduled to commence on December 10, which will last till December 12.
