KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba today said that his party was serious in being accountable to the country, democracy and people while playing the role of the leading opposition.

Deuba, in his message, claimed that the NC has provided leadership and given an outlet to challenges faced by the country while being responsive and dialogue friendly to the government. He further accused the incumbent government of taking such activities of the party as weakness.

The NC president said that the party would put pressure on the government from streets to the parliament to address people's aspirations for prosperity and good governance. "The party would take leadership in addressing problems and challenges created by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic," the NC president added.

He urged everyone to support and participate in the nationwide protest against the government that will be launched by the party in all 77 districts starting tomorrow by following necessary health protocol.
