KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Acting President Ramchandra Paudel has wished for peace, happiness and prosperity of all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the Tihar, Nepal Sambat 1136 and Chhath festivals.

In a message of best wishes on Thursday, he said, "Nepal is a multilingual, multicultural and multiethnic country characterised by distinct customs and traditions and these sorts of festivals have helped promote social harmony, unity and goodwill."

Stating that Tihar is the festival that symbolises love and bond between sisters and brothers, Paudel wished that this festival may bring joy and enthusiasm to all sisters and brothers.

Giving his note about the ongoing obstructions in the supplies of daily essentials in the country, he said though people's daily life has been crippled due to the obstructions, this festival may inspire us and give power to end this adversity through mutual understandings and dialogues.
