KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress called an emergency meeting of the party’s central committee after the health of party president and former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala worsened on Saturday.

According to sources, the CC meeting of NC is scheduled to take place at 1:00 pm at Koirala’s daughter house in Mandikhatar. All members of the CC were asked to present in the meeting without fail, the sources added. The doctors attending ailing Koirala confirmed that he is unconscious.

Top leaders of various political parties, party cadres, well-wishers, journalists and family members, among others have flocked to Mandhikatar to inquire about the health of the octogenarian leader.
