KATHMANDU: An informal meeting of Nepali Congress Central Committee (CC) ended at the residence of its president Girija Prasad Koirala in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Wednesday.

According to NC spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC, the president asked for the postponement of the Mahasamiti meeting if possible, which is slated on October 31 to November 2 in Birgunj. KC informed that the meeting decided to oppose the UCPN-Maoist demand to discuss the President move in the Legislature Parliament. He said that the president urged the party cadres to make a success of the upcoming 12th national general convention of the party which is scheduled for March 10-14, 2010. He informed that the meeting was of the view that the present government should not change.

Taking about Koirala's controversial meeting with UCPN- Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the residence of Lok Man Singh Karki, former royal regime chief secretary, KC said that the president's view was that it was just a coincidence.
