KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Chief Whip Chinkaji Shrestha has been bereaved of his mother on Friday. She was 85.

His mother, Dalchini Shrestha, passed away while undergoing treatment at the Bhaisepati-based Medicity Hospital today. She died of brain hemorrhage.

Her last rites would be performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed sorrow over the demise of Shrestha and extended condolence to the bereaved family.
