President of the Nepali Congress (NC), Gagan Kumar Thapa, has emphasized that his party is committed to eradicating corruption and ensuring good governance.
Addressing an election publicity event at Amarsingh Chowk in Pokhara on Friday, President Thapa stated that the country is in urgent need of freeing itself from corrupt practices. He highlighted that investigations would be initiated into the property of all individuals who have held significant public positions since 2046 BS, including former NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and himself.
Thapa asserted that the NC envisions a government capable of implementing transformative changes in education, health, agriculture, employment, and industry over the next five years. He further emphasized that Nepal can no longer endure any form of conflict and urged collective efforts to accelerate national development.
On the occasion, NC Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma appealed to citizens to make informed decisions rather than acting impulsively. He added that the NC has begun a process of transformation, reinventing itself following the special general convention, which has embraced new ideas and renewed enthusiasm.
NC candidates from Kaski constituencies-Tilak Ranabhat (1), Madhav Prasad Banstola (2), and Manoj Gurung (3)-also addressed the public, sharing their perspectives on the party's agenda.
