NC CWC likely to nominate members today
Kathmandu, April 19
The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee, which is scheduled to meet tomorrow at the party headquarters in Sanepa, is likely to nominate its members.
The CWC meeting, which began on March 23, was postponed following the death of NC CWC member Khum Bahadur Khadka.
NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said the meeting would continue discussion on the part’s humiliating defeat in the provincial and parliamentary elections and chart a course for the party’s revival. He said CWC members would also review the party’s role in contemporary politics and the role of its sister wings. Meanwhile, NC leader Prakash Sharan Mahat said NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba would nominate CWC members in the vacant seats soon.
Addressing an interaction here today, Mahat said the NC would also call its Mahashamiti meeting at the earliest. “We will focus on strengthening the party’s base and making sister wings effective,” said Mahat. The CWC meeting is expected to continue for about five days.
