The Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
A meeting of the NC parliamentary party today took a decision on this. Prior to this, the Central Works Execution Committee of the NC decided to join the government led by CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Dahal and direct the parliamentary party to back a vote of confidence to be tabled by the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 20, tomorrow.
The move to vote for Dahal followed a decision of the Works Execution Committee, according to party Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak who said that they will be issuing a whip to the entire party lawmakers for implementing the decision.
The Prime Minister will be seeking a vote of confidence in the HoR session tomorrow.
The meeting also agreed to join the incumbent government under the leadership of Dahal and the NC lawmakers will be taking seats allocated in a line of ruling bench in the HoR meeting today. The meeting also congratulated newly elected President Ramchandra Paudel and Vice President Ram Sahaya Yadav, wishing them a successful term.
It also congratulated the Nepali cricketers for their success in the ICC World Cup League-2 to be qualified for the 2023 One-day Men's World Cup qualifiers.
