NC decides to move ahead with constitution writing process
KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress has decided to move ahead with the constitution writing process after the agitating parties did not come for talks.
A meeting of the NC office-bearers held at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar today made the decision to that effect.
It may be noted that the three major political parties had postponed the constitution writing process for two days only for talks with disgruntled parties.
On the occasion, NC Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said that there was no alternative but to move ahead with the constitution writing process after leaders of the Madhes-based political parties did not come for talks.
People want promulgation of the new constitution as soon as possible, he said and added that they would adopt maximum flexibility for consensus as well as they would also forward constitution writing process simultaneously.
