NC to deploys election officers to all districts

Nepali Congress is preparing to deploy election officers to all 75 districts to hold convention elections at the local level in the run-up to the party’s general convention.

A NC Central Election Committee meeting held yesterday gave final touch to the list of election officers to be deployed in all 75 districts. NC central office said the assigned election officers would go to their designated districts in a couple of days and would start preparations for the elections.

The central office said preparations were under way to dispatch all necessary equipment to the specified areas.

Secretary at the central office Prakash Sharma said people from all walks of life, including teachers, professors, journalists and advocates, would be deployed for the elections. He added that at least 9,000 election officers were deployed to a total of 3,090 election centres.

The local level conventions are scheduled to take place on February 5, while district level conventions are scheduled for February 8.
