NC Lalitpur convention results announced

The results of the regional elections of Nepali Congress held in Lalitpur before the party’s 13th general convention scheduled for March 3-5 have been announced.

The regional elections had concluded on Friday. Rajan Ghimire and Madhesh Khadka were elected as the new presidents from constituency no 1 and 2, respectively.

Likewise, Gajendra Maharjan won the election from the constituency no 2, Election Officer Udyog Prasad Timilsina said.

Lalitpur district has a total of three constituencies and each constituency has nominated a six-member team for the general convention.

Meenkrishna Maharjan, Uday Shamser Rana, Mathura Prasad Ghimire, Rhishiram Ghimire, Ganesh Bahadur KC and Khom Prasad Ghimire will represent constituency no 1 (direct) in the party’s upcoming General Convention.

Similarly, cadres of constituency no 2 have decided to send Ram Krishna Chitrakar, Chandra Maharjan, Rudra Sharma, Pawan Bikram Thapa, Prem Krishna Maharjan and Prakash Nandan Joshi to the general convention.

Omkar Prasad Shrestha, Jitendra Kumar Shrestha, Jitjung Basnet, Pramod Sharma, Madan Bahadur Amatya and Bharatlal Nyachhyau have been elected from constituency no 3 as representatives for the general convention.

Meanwhile, Ganga Devi, Mul Nagarkoti, Gita Bajagain, Shanti Maharjan, Farinda Maharjan, Urmila KC Maharjan and Dhana Khatiwada have been elected as women representatives from the constituencies for the general convention.

Gokul Pahari, Dharma Raj Shrestha and Raj Kumar Maharjan of Nepali Congress have been elected under marginalised quota for the general convention.
