KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 8

The Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has urged the government to rescue and repatriate Nepalis suffering in Israel in the wake of Hamas' attack.

President Deuba condemned the attacks by Hamas in different parts of Israel and expressed concern about Nepalis being taken hostage and others being injured in the attack.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, the former Prime Minister demanded that the government immediately take action to rescue and repatriate Nepalis who are anxiously awaiting the safety of their lives.

He further urged the government to identify the number of Nepalis living in Israel and relocate them to safer places. President Deuba also called upon friendly countries, international human rights organizations, the International Organization of Migration, and the International Red Cross Committee to provide assistance in this regard.

Additionally, he encouraged Nepalis living in insecurity to contact the Nepali Embassy in Israel and the Nepali contact committee."
