Nepali Congress urges govt to forward two bills simultaneously

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the office-bearers of Nepali Congress on Tuesday has urged the government to forward the Constitution Amendment Bill and the Reconstruction Authority Bill simultaneously.

The party spokesperson, Dilendra Prasad Badu, informed that the party has urged the government to bring both the bills at the same time, making it clear that the Nepali Congress was not against the Reconstruction Authority Bill.

According to him, the main opposition party expected to resolve the Tarai agitation through the process of constitution amendment.

The meeting was held at Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala's Maharajgunj-based residence.

Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel, General Secretary duo Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula had taken part in the meeting.

Similarly, the meeting held discussions on various issues including the preparations of party's Central Working Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow and the upcoming general convention.
