‘NC will lead statute implementation’

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula said on Sunday that the Nepali Congress would lead implementation of the new constitution.

Speaking at an interaction on ‘Durable Peace, Challenges to enforcement of Constitution and Youth Leadership’ organised by GP Koirala Democracy Promotion Centre in the capital today, he said that as NC-led government promulgated the statute, it would also shoulder the responsibility of implementing it.

On a different note, he said the NC leadership should be handed over to the younger generation through the upcoming general convention of the party.

NC central member Pradip Poudel and the chairperson of the centre Baldev Timalsena also stressed on doing away with factionalism and resolving the intra-party conflict.
