NCP central committee meeting called by PM Oli begins in Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Central committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) called by party co-chair Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has begun.

The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, is underway at his official residence in Baluwatar, according to Bishnu Rimal, Chief Advisor to the PM.

Both factions of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have called separate central committee meetings today in the wake of parliament dissolution.

Internal rift has heightened between the two polarising factions within the ruling party. While one faction is led by PM Oli, the other sympathises with Dahal-Nepal ideologies. The intra-party feud deepened further after PM Oli, in a shocking and controversial move, decided to dissolve the parliament on December 20.

Meanwhile, the Dahal-Nepal faction has also called for a separate central committee meeting later today.
