NEA may not resort to power outages just yet

Kathmandu, December 5:

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will think about the need for load-shedding after two weeks, an official today said.

“Load-shedding will be an agenda after two weeks. In contrast to our expectation, the water level at the Kulekhani reservoir has not gone down; so we need not think about slapping load-shedding for the time being,” said Sher Singh Bhat, the chief of System Operation Department. He said the NEA will look at the water level situation after December 15 and then come up with a new schedule if it is necessary to make equal distribution of power in comparison to supply.
