KATHMANDU: The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) on Thursday issued a press statement demanding unconditional and immediate release of its former General Secretary Aang Kaji Sherpa. Sherpa was arrested by the police yesterday for allegedly posting anti-social messages on Facebook. The police said Sherpa had posted comments that were likely to disturb communal harmony. NEFIN also condemned state’s suppression of the movement launched by indigenous nationalities. Sherpa was arrested by plainclothesmen from Bauddha on Wednesday.
