Nembang for inclusive statute
Kathmandu, August 15:
Chairman of Constituent Assembly Subas Chandra Nembang today said diversity among 601 members has made the CA a suitable platform to write a progressive and democratic constitution.
Addressing a programme organised to mark the World Indigenous Day here, Nembang said, “The 601 members, who represent diverse communities, will surely help frame an inclusive constitution.”
Stating that the new constitution will empower the indigenous people, he said federal autonomy would empower every Nepali.
“Decentralisation of power among federal states is a must,” he said.
All CA members are working hard to prepare a new regulation for functioning of the Constituent Assembly, Nembang said, expressing solidarity with the demands of indigenous groups.
President of Federation of Dalit Women Durga Sob said, “Dalit women have not been able to secure their rights.”
