Nembang urges CIAA to be more active
Kathmandu, February 11:
Speaker of the Legislature-Parliament Subas Nembang today said that the anti-corruption watchdog Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) should be active in making the country free from corruption.
“The nation hopes that the activities of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority will help in controlling corruption,” Nembang said. Nembang was speaking at a programme organised by the anti-corruption watchdog to mark the 17th CIAA day today.
Nembang assured the CIAA that the Legislature-Parliament will provide every kind of support to it in its activities against corruption.
“People want to see its effective intervention against corruption with concrete results,” Nembang said.
Nembang urged the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority to achieve concrete results against corruption.
Nembang distributed the CIAA journalism award to Bishnu Subedi of Annapurna Post daily and Yam Birahi of Rajdhani daily.
Acting Chief Commissioner of the CIAA Indra Kumar Shrestha and Commissioner Lalit Bahadur Limbu said controlling corruption is the common goal of the society; thus everybody should fight against corruption.
