Nepal Army bids farewell to Defence Minister Rawal

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Rawal lauded the Nepal Army's contribution in various fronts, including in search and rescue operation in recent natural disasters and development works, in the country

As the Nepal Army bears the role of national security also, DPM observed that it should be modernised along with organisational strengthening and capacity upgrade.

He was speaking at a function organised by the Nepal Army to bid farewell to him at the Nepal Army headquarters in Kathmandu today.

Chief of the Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri thanked the outgoing Defence Minister for his role in maintaining good relation between the Nepal Army and the Defence Ministry, according to a statement issued by the Nepal Army's Directorate of Public Relations.

Defence Secretary Mahesh Prasad Dahal and top army officials were also present on the occasion.
