KATHMANDU: An imposter claiming to be a Nepali Army captain was arrested on the charge of swindling four youth with an assurance of managing them the army job.

A special police team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Dhan Bahadur Pariyar (33) of Manebhanjyang VDC-9 in Okhaldhunga district, the MCD informed in a statement today.

Earlier, he used to identify as NA Captain Arjun Katuwal deployed at the Army Headquarters in Kathmandu, police said.

He even used to hire a motorcycle to impress his gullible targets.

The preliminary investigation has also revealed that the alleged conman had distributed his portrait in Nepal Army uniform to win hearts of his target.

He used to charge Rs 200,000 to Rs 300,000 for the cause, the MCD statement reads.

After Bhawani Khadka and three other victims resorted to the MCD seeking justice, Pariyar was arrested by a special team deployed from the MCD from his home district on Tuesday and sent to the Teku-based Metropolitan Police Range for further investigation and action today.
