KATHMANDU: Veteran comedy artist, writer and director Ram Shekhar Nakarmi passed away today. He was 80.

He had been long suffering from cancer and died in course of treatment at the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.

Nakarmi, a permanent resident of Inachowk of Bhaktapur Municipality, had been taking shelter at a home for older people after the earthquake in April 2015 demolished his house.

The man with multiple talents had spent six decades as a satirist and directed some of his works and acted in them.

He is the script writer of famous Nepal Bhasha (Newari) movie 'Rajamati'.

He is survived by four daughters and four sons.
