NBSM continues monitoring traders

KATHMANDU: Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology (NBSM) Regional Office in Balaju has continued taking legal action against traders who sell products without going through measurement tests.

The Office Chief Shashi Bhusan Kumar Yadav said, "We have found that many traders are selling and distributing products without measurement tests so we have advanced action against them."

The office collected revenue of Rs 9.8 million from tests and distribution of new permits by May 14 of the current fiscal year. The revenue was collected from tests carried out on 10,578 products and distribution of new permits.

The office has been distributing permission for new weighing and measurement devices, testing the measurement devices, monitoring the petrol pumps and vehicular tanks among other works.
