Nepal Police, APF vow to work together

Kathmandu, April 8

Inspector General of Police Upendra Kant Aryal and Acting Inspector General of Armed Police Force Durja Kumar Rai today expressed commitment to work in association with each other to carry out the functions and duties of both the security agencies.

Speaking at a function organised in APF Headquarters, Halchok, Aryal said, “Nepal Police and APF are two organisations with same objectives — maintaining law and order in the country and giving people a sense of security. We have different logos and names but both the organisations should stand united and become one when it comes to the issues of peace and security.”

He pledged to work in tandem with APF. “Nepal Police and APF will work together to maintain peace and security in the country. We enjoy cordial relations and are two sides of the same coin,” said Rai .

Aryal and Rai are from the same batch. But Rai opted for APF after its establishment in 2001.

Recalling that they joined Nepal Police the same year, Rai said, “We belong to same batch and feel it easier to work together in the area of peace and security.”
