Nepali Army gifts khukuri to Prince Harry

Kathmandu, March 22

Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri today presented a khukuri as a souvenir to visiting British Prince Harry.

According to Nepali Army, CoAS Rana welcomed the British royal at Tribhuvan International Airport upon his return from Pokhara and offered the souvenir.

As a souvenir from the Nepali Army, General Chhetri also extended a historic picture of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II along with Nepali Army’s leadership taken during her state-visit to Nepal in 1961, according to Nepali Army Spokesperson Tara Bahadur Karki.

Prince Harry, who had arrived in Nepal on a five-day official visit on Saturday, toured different parts of Bardiya, Lamjung and Kaski districts on a Nepali Army helicopter before returning to Kathmandu on Tuesday.

He is also scheduled to address Nepal Girl Summit 2016 in the capital.
