Dahal busies himself with political meetings

KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday morning met top leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Sadbhawana Party in order to explore an avenue for resolution of Madhes agitation prior to the Parliament meeting, which is scheduled to proceed with the bill on constitutional amendment.
The House meeting has been called for this afternoon.
In a meeting with Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala at his residence in Baluwatar this morning, Dahal agreed to forge a common stance on the resolution of Madhes agitation.
Top leaders of the three major parties -- Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist -- had met yesterday prior to the meeting between their task force with the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front's task force.
In the task forces' meeting, the representatives of major parties had expressed reluctance to meet the UDMF 's demand for two provinces in the Tarai-Madhes region.
Nepali Congress, Maoist leaders meet
KATHMANDU: Top leaders of Nepali Congress and UCPN-Maoist are holding bilateral meeting prior to a three-party meeting and Parliament meeting today.
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal went to Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala's residence in Maharajganj to discuss the resolution of Madhes agitation through the amendment of constitution and formation to political mechanism to redo provincial boundaries.
