KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress, in a statement issued after the CWC meeting, said Dr Govinda KC’s fast-unto-death has drawn the NC’s attention. “He has put forth two types of demands — those that are political in nature and others related to medical education. We cannot back his political demands,” the NC said in the statement. Dr KC’s demand seeking impeachment of Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority is of political nature and the NC will not support such demands, said CWC member Ram Krishna Yadav. Dr KC had also made a “political demand” — resignation of then education minister Chitralekha Yadav — during the previous NC-led government.
