KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress on Sunday formed two panels for mobilisation of its leaders and cadres and preparation of the manifesto for the upcoming local level elections.

A Central Working Committee meeting presided over by the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba held today formed the panels.

CWC member Arjun Narsingha KC had tabled a proposal to form the mobilisation committee under the leadership of Paudel.

Meanwhile, the party also decided to form 42 central departments immediately. However, the number of departments could be adjusted to meet the party need, the decision said.

Earlier, the meeting had formed a 29-member Central Executive Committee to take major decisions in absence of the CWC meeting.

The meeting will continue at 8:30 am tomorrow, according to the party's Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
