KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2
Nesfield International College, located in Lalitpur Metropolitan City, organized a two-day National Student Conference titled "Contemporary Business, Society, and Issues on Contemporary Technology."
The inaugural session, held at Hotel Goodwill in Kanibahal, Lalitpur, was chaired by Prof. Dr. Santosh Raj Paudel, Chairperson of the College Management Committee.
The conference brought together students from various colleges affiliated with different universities across the country to present research papers on diverse issues related to business, society, and technology. Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, was the Chief Guest of the event.
A panel discussion facilitated by Prakash Gautam featured insights from Prof. Dr. Gajendra Sharma, Associate Prof. Dr. Jitendra Dangol, Dr. Mahendra Sapkota, Dr. Sunil Chitrakar, and Ms. Goma Tiwari.
The panelists emphasized the need to reform university curricula to address the large-scale outflow of students seeking higher education abroad, utilize technology effectively, tackle challenges posed by artificial intelligence, make research more practical and objective, and adopt market-oriented teaching methods.
In addition to academic sessions, students performed cultural dances during the program, showcasing their talents beyond the classroom.
Vice Principal Kamal K.C. highlighted that the college, which received QAA accreditation from the University Grants Commission in 2025, had previously organized a national conference in collaboration with Janabhavana Campus.
He noted that Nesfield has been publishing research journals since its establishment and places special emphasis on both academic and extracurricular activities for the holistic development of students-a commitment reflected in the students' performance in the competitive job market.
Jit Shrestha, BHM Program Coordinator at the college, said, "Last year, in coordination with Janamaitri College, we organized a two-day national conference. However, this time, we are hosting our first independent student conference of its kind in Nepal, aimed at providing a platform to foster and deepen the understanding of research and paper presentation among Nepali students across the country."
