New APF chief conferred on insignia
KATHMANDU: Newly appointed acting Inspector General of Armed Police Force Durja Kumar Rai was conferred on insignia, on Sunday.
A Cabinet meeting held on Friday evening had promoted him to the top post of the paramilitary force after its incumbent chief, IG Kosh Raj Onta, was suspended on recommendations of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
At a function organised at the Ministry of Home Affairs today, Home Secretary Narayan Gopal Malego conferred the insignia on Rai.
Onta was suspended for three months after the anti-corruption constitutional body alleged him of involving in misappropriation of the state coffers.
